Evaluation of nitrate redistribution in surface and subsurface drip irrigation systems

چکیده

Nitrogen compounds added to the soil may convert nitrate and cause contamination. The distribution uniformity of in surface vs. subsurface drip irrigation systems were compared a physical model consisting transparent glass box (1.20 x 0.5 1 m) sandy loam soil, considering emitter installation depths 0 30 cm, discharge rates Q1 = 2, Q2 4, Q3 8 L/h, fertilizer levels S1 125, S2 250, S3 375 mg/L. Irrigation continued for 6 h moisture sampling was performed 68 after initiation water front advance. result showed that doubling caused wetted area triple size system whereas it only doubled system. Thus system, when increasing level, spread out extensively therefore its concentration greatly reduced. Also, by discharge, difference between two increases because non-uniformity such form 125 mg/L, from 22% 500% (for 2 L/h), 43% 352% 4 14% 166% L/h). has more uniform trend than treatment with maximum flow level will create most optimal soil.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Subsurface Drip Irrigation

The advantages and disadvantages of subsurface drip irrigation (SDI) as compared to alternative irrigation systems are conceptually discussed. Each category (advantages and disadvantages) is subdivided into three groups: 1) Water and soil issues; 2) Cropping and cultural practices, and 3) System infrastructure issues. The adaptation and adoption of SDI systems into diverse cropping systems, geo...

Advantages and Disadvantages of Subsurface Drip Irrigation

Subsurface drip irrigation (SDI) applies water directly to the crop root zone using buried polyethy lene tubing, also known as a dripline, dripperline, or drip tape (Figure 1). Driplines come in varying diam eters and thicknesses in order to maintain acceptable irrigation uniformity for different field lengths. Smaller diameter driplines are used when short lateral lengths are required. As la...

Effect of deficit irrigation on crop growth, yield and quality of onion in subsurface drip irrigation

Indiahas the largest area under onion (Allium cepa) crop but its average productivity (14.21 t ha-1) is considerably lower than the world’s average of 19.4 t ha-1. Besides low productivity, irrigation efficiencies are also very low i.e. 30-35% in India. Managing onion crop with less than adequate irrigation water availability is a challenge in several parts of the country. Options of i) deficit...

Design Considerations for Subsurface Drip Irrigation (SDI) Systems

Gary A. Clark Research Irrigation Engineer Quick Facts Subsurface drip irrigation (SDI) is a low-pressure irrigation system that uses polyethylene driplines that are permanently buried below the soil surface. Water drips to the surrounding soil through built-in emitters (specialized small openings). SDI places water directly into the root zone of the crop. It may improve yield due to high appli...

The Effect of Different Traits on Yield and Water Productivity in Surface and Subsurface Drip Irrigation of Kabkab Variety

Increasing crop production per unit volume of water consumption requires recognizing the most dependent variable in drip irrigation to the volume of water consumption and also identifying the most important variables independent of water productivity in surface and subsurface drip irrigation for optimal use of available water resources. The present research was carried out in Behbahan Agricultu...
